Frankie on the losing side

Posted on: Tue 02 Feb 2010

IT wasn't a happy return to Rochdale for goalkeeper Frank Fielding after Keith Hill's side lost their first game in 12 to near neighbours Bury on Monday night.

Rovers goalkeeper Fielding made the deadline day move to League Two leaders Rochdale on loan until the end of the season, a place where he had played almost 30 games just over a year earlier in a similar loan spell

After a goalless first 70 minutes at Gigg Lane, the deadlock was finally broken by Bury striker Ryan Lowe.

Rochdale threw on fellow Rovers loanee Andy Haworth for the last ten minutes of the match, but Bury claimed the win to take them up to third in the table.

This Tuesday evening Gavin Gunning hopes to have shaken off a dead leg to play for Rotherham against Bournemouth. The Rovers defender, along with striker Marcus Marshall, extended their loan deals with Ronnie Moore's side until the end of the season on transfer deadline day.

Also hoping to feature for their loan club tonight is Johnny Flynn who extended his deal with Accrington Stanley until the end of the season. They are at home to Barnet.
