ROVERS boss Sam Allardyce was left to rue missed chances despite picking up a rare point away at West Ham United.

The game ended goalless for Rovers' first point at the Boleyn Ground since October 1995, but Big Sam was disappointed that it wasn't three.

"There is no doubt that we have dropped two points," said Allardyce after the game. "You just have to look at the chance we created in the second half to see that it was begging for us to take three points on a terrific second half performance,

"We completely controlled the play, dominated the game, created chance after chance after chance but couldn't find the ultimate finish."

Rovers had the best chance in the first half when the in form Morten Gamst Pedersen came within inches of giving them the lead, but his well struck free-kick crashed off the crossbar.

The second half saw the visitors in control, with goalkeeper Paul Robinson a spectator for long periods as Rovers dominated.

Three chances in three minutes should have seen Rovers win the game, but alas it wasn't to be.

"Green got in the way of Martin Olsson's shot and Jason Robert's chance, and then we had the big one where it looked like we'd got a goal only for the ball to hit Noble's thigh, it looked like it is going in the net then he pops his arm up and plays it out with his arm.

"We are all jumping up and down thinking it was going to be a penalty but unfortunately it wasn't seen by the referee or his assistants, so it is a great shame.

"Yes we have to blame ourselves for the chances we've missed, but there's a decision that has gone against us which should have gone for us and allowed us the chance to score from a penalty kick to win the game."
