Samba back for Hammers test

Posted on: Fri 29 Jan 2010

ROVERS welcome Chris Samba back into the squad for the trip to West Ham United on Saturday.

The giant defender had to sit out Wednesday night's 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic due to a one-match suspension, but he comes back into contention as Rovers look to make it three wins on the spin.

That is the only expected change to the squad with Vince Grella, David Dunn and Lars Jacobsen still absent.

Grella is back in training but Saturday's game comes too soon for the Australian, whilst Jacobsen's thigh and Dunn's calf keep them sidelined for now.

"The treatment room is pretty bare at the moment I'm glad to say," said Sam.

"Vince is training with us, Lars is nearly there, Chris Samba is obviously back from suspension and David Dunn has a little calf injury, so that looks like it might be another week.

"But to have just Lars and David out of the whole squad at this stage of the season is not bad at all."

The manager will select from: Robinson, Chimbonda, Nelsen, Givet, Olsson, Diouf, Emerton, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Hoilett, Kalinić, Brown, Samba, Roberts, Reid, Andrews, Di Santo, Salgado, Jones.
