MANAGER Sam Allardyce admits that Rovers' disappointing defeat to Aston Villa in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup has now been put to rest.
Rovers were on course for victory when they raced into a two-goal lead, but Wembley dreams were dashed when Villa fought back to win 6-4.
Big Sam says that it is important to take the positives from the dramatic Villa defeat - as well as the 2-0 victory over Fulham - and take them into the remaining Premier League games.
"The players seem okay now," he said.
"We've run some very good footage on how we played at Aston Villa and I think that we are very upbeat about the fact that we've got to overcome the disappointment and make sure that we get our league performances and our league wins under our belts.
"We need to concentrate on each game as it comes around and focus on the good things that we've done - particularly against Fulham and of course against Aston Villa, at certain stages of the game."
Captain
Ryan Nelsen echoed his manager's thoughts.
"Obviously the result was tough to take," said the club captain.
"We thought it was so close and the attitude and the spirit of the players was there for all to see. It was just a shame that we couldn't get over the line.
"It was a massive downer not getting there, but you've got to take the positives.
"There's not many times where you can take more positives than negatives out of a loss and I think in this instance you can."
