A huge game - Nelsen

Posted on: Wed 27 Jan 2010
Ryan Nelsen has fond memories of last season's home clash with Wigan Athletic.

For the New Zealand defender netted his first goal in Rovers' colours - on his 140th appearance for the club!

Rovers' 2-0 victory over the Latics last April went a long way to securing the club's safety and Ryan believes that tonight's contest is equally important.

"Prolific is a word I like to use," joked Ryan, who has already got three goals to his name this term.

"It was a good time to score at that stage of the season, as we were struggling a wee bit at the time.

"I think this game against Wigan is going to be just as important. It is a huge game.

"But I don't care who scores as long as we win. The table will look at lot more promising if we do, but I'm sure Wigan are thinking the same thing.

"But yes it is a really important game."

Tickets for the Wigan game are on open sale priced from £17 for Adults, £12 Seniors/Club 16-21 Members and £7 for Juniors. Alternatively see the Wigan game and the Hull City game in the WEC Group Darwen End for just £20. For futher details visit www.onerovers.co.uk
