ROVERS will be without defender Lars Jacobsen for Sunday's home match against Fulham.
The Danish international right-back sustained a thigh strain during the first half of Thursday night's Carling Cup match against Aston Villa, and he joins the injured ranks in the squad.
But as one defender misses out, one could come back into contention as it is hoped Gaël Givet has recovered from the head injury picked up last Monday.
"Lars felt a thigh muscle tear so that is another one to add to the list," said manager Sam Allardyce on Friday morning.
"We'll have a look to see how Gaël is but hopefully he'll be okay again but Lars looks like he'll be out with the rest, Jason Roberts, Vince Grella and Diouf who is suspended."
With the prospect of three games in six days, Allardyce admits he could make changes to the starting eleven on Sunday.
"We made a few changes for Manchester City and we made a few changes for last night in that game and we used the substitutions as we went on so we'll continue to do the same and hopefully it will help us get the win."
The manager should select from: Robinson, Chimbonda, Samba, Nelsen, Givet, Emerton, Salgado, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Dunn, Kalinić, Brown, McCarthy, Reid, Olsson, Hoilett, Di Santo, Andrews, Jones.
