ROVERS midfielder Keith Andrews was the 'model' professional when he helped a group of schoolchildren re-enact one of his favourite goal celebrations.

Pupils from two local schools, Shadsworth Junior and St Michael with St John, were invited to take part in a special animation session, which was organised by Rovers' Community Trust and staged in the club's Education Department.

The children were tasked with recreating Keith's famous finger wagging goal celebration, which he performed after scoring the equaliser against West Ham here at Ewood in March.

The group made plasticine models of Keith and his team-mates and then brought them to life using specialist video equipment in a short animation.

After admiring the children's handy work, Keith said: "It was great to see the kids having so much fun and I have to say some of the models they made bore an uncanny resemblance!"

The event was part of a Barclays Premier League initiative called Places for Players, which highlights to fans and the general public how Barclays Premier League clubs play an important role in their communities.

Places for Players is part of Creating Chances, the umbrella brand for all of the good cause work that the Premier League delivers in communities both in the UK and across the world.

Through Creating Chances the Premier League uses the power of football to engage all sectors of society in the participation of sport and intervention programmes which address key social issues.
