Sam: Pleased yet disappointed
There was a hint of disappointment in the voice of Sam Allardyce as he reflected upon more points dropped.
This time the venue was the DW Stadium where the game ended 1-1 after Rovers had lead through Benni McCarthy's 30th minute strike.
But Hugo Rodallega levelled shortly after the restart, and although Rovers had chances to grab the much needed winner, they had to settle for a share of the points.
"I was pleased with the performance," said Allardyce post match. "But disappointed that we've not managed to secure all three points on the amount of chances we've created.
"We let a winning position slip, but then we had enough chances to get back into the winning position towards the end of the game.
"But sadly we've not got the rub of the green, that little bit of lady luck going in our favour so we ended up drawing instead of winning.
"We had chances to go two up but didn't take it, and when they put a bit of pressure we cracked and they scored.
"We went astray for five to ten minutes but then took control again and went looking for the winner.
"That was very pleasing, there was Benni's chance, Keith Andrews' shot looked like it was going in, Chris Samba's header was cleared off the line.
"So like I said, I'm pleased with the performance but disappointed with the result."
