Rovers will be without Vince Grella for the festive period as injury has struck the Australian once again.

The midfielder, who put in a man-of-the-match display last weekened against Tottenham picked up a thigh injury in the final moments of the Ewood match and is expected to be out for two to three weeks.

"Vince will be missing over this period because unfortunately he did a thigh muscle tear right at the end of the Tottenham game," admitted Allardyce.

"He's had a few injuries, but when he has played he has looked very good, probably played the best since he's been here."
