Midfielder returns for Spurs clash

Posted on: Fri 18 Dec 2009

Sam Allardyce welcomes back Vince Grella to his squad for Saturday's home encounter against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Australian missed Tuesday night's loss at Birmingham through illness having recovered from the slight thigh injury he picked up during the Hull match three days earlier.

But as one midfielder returns, two others continue to be absent, with Brett Emerton joining David Dunn on the injury list.

Emerton picked up a groin strain at St. Andrew's on Tuesday and is expected to be out for two to three weeks, whilst David Dunn hasn't yet recovered from the calf strain that has forced him to miss the last four games.

No other injuries have been reported, therefore the manager should select from: Robinson, Chimbonda, Samba, Nelsen, Givet, Diouf, Andrews, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Kalinic, Roberts, Brown, Jacobsen, McCarthy, Grella, Hoilett, Di Santo, Salgado, Olsson, van Heerden, Jones.
