Emerton injury woe

Posted on: Wed 16 Dec 2009

Midfield ace Brett Emerton looks set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.

The Australian international came off at the midway point in the first half with a groin strain on a disappointing evening for Rovers who lost 2-1.

"Brett has got a groin injury," revealed Allardyce after the game.

"I don't know what it was, he was feeling okay before the game, there were no problems.

"It is a shame, it was a cold night, two days after the Hull match, these things happen."

But whilst one Australia looks set to miss Saturday's home match against Tottenham Hotspur, another should return as Grella missed the St. Andrew's clash through illness.

"But we aren't too bad for injuries at the moment, we will have Vince back on Saturday, and we hope Dunn will be back too, we'll see how he is."
