Sam cool on striker talk

Posted on: Sat 12 Dec 2009

SAM Allardyce insists he is not actively looking to bring in a new striker this January - because he is happy with the attacking options he already has.

The Rovers boss has been linked with various forwards in the press, but he says he's content with his current options, providing Chelsea grant permission for Franco Di Santo to extend his loan spell.

The manager said: "I've got four strikers at the moment so I'm not in the market for any other strikers.

"We are waiting on Chelsea to make a decision on Franco, in terms of whether it is a possibility that he could stay or not.

"We are in their capable hands and hopefully they'll be kind enough to allow us to keep him.

"So I'm not looking for any more strikers, because we've got Niko Kalinic, Franco, Jason Roberts and Benni McCarthy, and four is enough."
