World Cup draw details

Next summer's World Cup took a step closer with the group draw being made this Friday evening.

Taking place in Cape Town, the draw has seen all of the possible Rovers representatives kept apart in the groups.

The World Cup kicks off on the 11th June with South Africa, hopefully featuring Benni McCarthy and Elrio van Heerdon, taking on Mexico in Johannesburg.

England's first game is a day later on Saturday 12th against the USA in Rustenburg, whilst Brett Emerton and Vince Grella get Australia's tournament underway against Germany in Durban on Sunday 13th June.

Ryan Nelsen's New Zealand entertain Slovakia in their first game June 15th. Whilst Denmark, featuring Rovers defender Lars Jacobsen have a tricky opener against the Dutch a day earlier.

The eight groups are as follows.

Group A:
South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France

Group B:
Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece

Group C:
England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia

Group D:
Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia

Group E:
Netherlands, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark

Group F:
Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia

Group G:
Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal

Group H:
Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland
