Macca excited by Ewood return

Posted on: Fri 27 Nov 2009

After the disappointment of Wednesday night's defeat at Fulham, Neil McDonald is looking for a return to home comforts at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Rovers have picked up just three points on their travels this season, but it is a different matter at Ewood, with the team going into Saturday's match against Stoke City looking for their sixth consecutive home victory.

"We are really looking forward to the game, our home form is excellent and we want to continue that if we can," said assistant manager Neil McDonald.

"Sam's first game was against Stoke City so we are hoping to have the same performance and the same result as much as we possibly can on Saturday."

Rovers are favourites for the match, but McDonald is wary of the threat Tony Pulis' team possess.

"Stoke have lots of strengths but they have got lots of weaknesses as well.

"If you look at their strengths all the time you are going to be a little but scared, a little bit tentative and a little bit on the back foot.

"Our home form is excellent and I'm sure they'll be very very wary of us and that is the way we have to approach the game.

"Ewood Park is a hard place to go, two defeats in 15 since the manager has come in and that is excellent and long may it continue.

"It is always nice to win your home games, we'd certainly like to pick up more points away but our home form is excellent and we'd like to keep that going for as long as we can."

Tickets for Saturday's game are on open sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off. Prices are from £17 for Adults, £12 for Seniors 65 and over, £12 for Club 16-21 Members and just £7 for Juniors under 16.
