Ireland's Paris quest

Posted on: Wed 18 Nov 2009

All eyes will be on the Stade de France this Wednesday evening as Ireland look to upset the form book by defeating France to progress to the World Cup finals.

Under the stewardship of Raymond Domenech, France have lost just the once in Paris, and with Ireland trailing 1-0 thanks to Nicolas Anelka's goal in Dublin on Saturday, they have it all to do in the French capital.

Keith Andrews is expected to be named in Giovanni Trapattoni's starting line-up once again.

There are other Rovers players involved in action elsewhere on Wednesday, Lars Jacobsen's Denmark take on the USA in Arhus, whilst Nikola Kalinić is with the Croatian under 21 squad for their game against Slovakia.

There's a trio of Ireland under 19s in action as Aaron Doran, Gearoid Morrissey and Gavin Gunning are in the squad for their final group match against Italy in San Marino.
