Neil salutes Salgado's spirit

Posted on: Thu 29 Oct 2009

Assistant Manager Neil McDonald has praised the contribution made by Michel Salgado during his short time with the club.

The former Spanish international has been a instant hit at the club since he joined on a free transfer from Real Madrid in August on a two-year deal.

And after scoring his first goal in English football on Tuesday night's Carling Cup win over Peterborough, McDonald praised his attitude.

"He's full of life, he's full of joy, he's full of running and he's a fine example to everybody on how the game should be played," said the Assistant Manager.

"He adds that little bit of steel and determination and he's been brought up to win and he wants to win all the time and hopefully that can give everybody confidence on seeing him play, him running about, him sprinting forward and back and he finished it off with his first goal which is great for him."
