Loan stars in action

Defender Zurab Khizanishvili played an influential role as Newcastle United defeated Ipswich Town 4-0 at Portman Road.

The Georgian international, made his first start for his loan club and had a hand in two of their goals as Chris Hughton's side kept pace at the top of the table.

At the other end of the Championship table however are Plymouth and they lost for the seventh straight side at home to Nottingham Forest.

Midfielder Alan Judge featured for the last half hour, coming on as a second half substitute.

Mark Bunn and Keith Treacy were both in the starting line-up for Sheffield United, but they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Swansea City.

Treacy's day came to a premature end when he limped off midway through the first half through injury. In goal Mark Bunn was powerless to prevent a home victory.

In League One Alex Marrow played the last half hour as Oldham Athletic got back to winning ways courtesy of a 1-0 away win at Southend.

Striker Nick Blackman missed out once again with a foot injury.
