Sam on Salgado start
Sam Allardyce felt it was a tough situation for Michel Salgado to be in after the former Spanish international's first start in a Rovers shirt against Everton on Sunday.
A new addition to the Jacobsen family in the early hours of Sunday morning meant that Salgado was thrust into the starting eleven, but whilst Allardyce feels that it'll take time for the former Real Madrid man to adjust to English football, playing in a side that struggled against the Toffees didn't help his cause.
"He did okay in general, but he played in a side that struggled defensively and they shouldn't have done that with the experience that we've got," said Sam.
"It was a big ask, no matter where you've played abroad and how big a play you've had, to step into the Premier League and produce your best at some stage.
"He'll get better and better as time will go on, he was okay but there were a lot of players that haven't lived up to their own reputations and that is a bit disappointing after two good performances against West Ham and Wolves."
