Sam: A pleasing display
For the first time this season Rovers got the points that the display deserved.
Matches against Manchester City, Sunderland and West Ham United merited more points than the one gained, but against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the goals flowed and the first win of the season followed, much to the delight of Rovers boss Sam Allardyce.
"It was really pleasing today, it was another step up from the display against West Ham," Allardyce told Radio Rovers after the game.
"We played the same amount of football today as we did then and this time it could have been all over at half time, never mind just into the second half.
"We made it easy going in the end because we got the three goals and it was a comfortable victory with some really good football.
"The lads are looking comfortable with each other better, and apart from double vision to Chris Samba I think everything went very well.
"We've done everything we needed to do to win the game and win it comfortably and played exceptionally well as well.
"So we've entertained and won, the best way to get three points."
