Salgado signs!
Blackburn Rovers have today completed the signing of Michel Salgado.
The former Real Madrid full back joins the Ewood Park club on a free transfer and has signed a two-year deal.
Salgado started his professional career with Celta Vigo where he enjoyed a four year spell, then until 1999 he made an €11m move to Real Madrid immediately making an impression as the Madrid club won the Champions League that season. The following season he helped Real to their 30th League title.
In a ten year spell at the Bernabéu club, he won four league titles, three Spanish Super Cups, two Champions League titles, the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
Michel will head back to the Spanish capital after the weekend to say goodbye at a match in his honour on Monday when Real Madrid take on Rosenborg.
In a glittering international career with Spain, Michel was capped 53 times for his country.
The club now await international clearance, he will wear number 27.
