Boss Sam Allardyce is hopeful that his players can find their goalscoring touch in Rovers' last pre-season friendly of the summer on Saturday.

The team make the journey from Lancashire to Dundee where they face Dundee United at Tannadice in a 12 noon kick-off.

Speaking to Radio Rovers after Wednesday night's goalless draw with Hibernian, Allardyce said: "It is frustrating that we didn't win the game comfortably with the chances created, but lets hope the players are going to sharpen up their shooting boots on Saturday at Dundee United and then of course when we start the season on the 15th.

"It is pleasing to see that we are making that many chances but disappointing that we didn't convert them.

"Franco could have got off to a wonderful start with a couple of nice touches and particularly the header on the far post from Lars' cross.

"Jason has had three or four good ones again but just pulled them wide and other chances went begging here and there but we couldn't quite put them in the back of the net.

"That is a little disappointing, but it was a nice clean sheet at home and we haven't allowed the opposition a clear chance in ninety minutes, so it shows out of possession we got back in our shape and we've let the opposition play where it is ineffective - in their own half.

"We've picked up no injuries, which is a good thing, so we can now look forward to going to Dundee United on Saturday."
