Keith Andrews has penned a new four year deal with the football club.

The midfielder has signed a contract that keeps him at Rovers until the summer of 2013.

Speaking exclusively to Rovers World, the Irish international said: "I'm delighted to be here and to commit myself for another four years.

"The Chairman was very fair with me, when I signed here from MK Dons he said that if I performed and got in the team and stayed in the team I would be rewarded and he's been true to his word, so I'm over the moon to be signing."

After arriving from MK Dons last summer, Andrews had an impressive first season in top-flight football, scoring four goals in his 35 appearances last term.

Strong displays for Rovers also saw Andrews earn international recognition for the first time, scoring on his international debut for the Republic of Ireland, he went on to make six appearances for Giovanni Trapattoni's side.

"Last season went reasonably well from a personal point of view," added the 28-year-old. "I was delighted to make so many appearances first and foremost. To have played so many games last year was probably more than what I expected.

"I had things to prove to myself and I think I did that last year. At the highest level of football, and on the international stage as well.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far, I've a manager here now that has been thoroughly fair with me and I really want to stay here and crack on."
