SAM Allardyce says he would like to sign "one possibly two" strikers and admits that the search for firepower is his number one priority.

The Rovers boss, who has aseen Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire depart for pastures new, says: "You don't need to be a football manager to know that we are in the market for a striker.

"We do need to strengthen in other areas, but up front is the big priority.

"There is money available and we need to spend it as wisely as possible. There is no room for mistakes and we have to make sure that anyone we bring in is going to make a big contribution.

"Finding a new striker - possibly two - is my focus."
