Robbo hoping for England recall

Posted on: Wed 10 Jun 2009

Paul Robinson will once again be hoping to get the nod for tonight's World Cup qualifier between England and Andorra.

Fabio Capello is expected to shuffle his squad for this evening's Wembley encounter and the Rovers keeper will be eager to get a chance to impress.

Robbo was an unused sub as the Three Lions maintained their 100% record in Group 6 with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Kazakhstan at the weekend.

In Rotterdam, Morten Gamst Pedersen's Norway will be looking to pick up their first win of the qualifying campaign away to Holland.

Norway are currently bottom of Group 9 with just three points from their opening four games, whilst the Dutch secured their place in South Africa next summer with a sixth straight win, over Iceland, on Saturday.

Down under, Vince Grella was named on the bench for Australia's game against Bahrain in Sydney.

The Socceroos booked their place at successive finals for the first time in their history courtesy of a goalless draw away to Qatar at the weekend.

In friendly action, Zurab Khizanishvili's Georgia visit Albania, whilst Aaron Doran, Gavin Gunning, Callum O'Connor and Gearoid Morrissey are all in the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad for their final UEFA Championship Elite qualifier against Sweden in Tessenderio, having already missed out on next month's finals following back-to-back defeats.
