Nearly there!

Boss Sam Allardyce feels one more victory will be enough for Rovers to keep their Premier League status, and he'd like it as quickly as possible.

Off the back of Sunday's 2-0 home win over Wigan Athletic, Rovers moved up to 15th in the table on 37 points.

One more win from their four remaining games will see Rovers reach the forty point mark, which Sam believes will keep his side up.

Speaking to Radio Rovers, Allardyce said: "I want another three points as quickly as possible.

"That would take us to the forty mark then and I think we'd be safe from there on.

"Lets hope that we can go to Manchester City and see if we can get something, if we can get an away victory that would be fantastic, but at least come away with a point."

Friends and Family offer for the Portsmouth game

Sunday's win over Wigan not only saw Rovers move up the table away from the drop zone, but perhaps more importantly it put a six point gap between themselves and Middlesbrough who currently occupy the final relegation place.

"We've had two victories on the trot here at Ewood Park, two very important victories indeed," added the Rovers boss. "We are running the games down now and I don't think we've been as far away from the bottom three as we are at the moment I'm glad to say.

"We've taken 24 points out of 17 games and that is a really great return in my time, but it shows just how difficult to get safe when you are in and amongst it in December."
