Grella targets Stoke return
Midfielder Vince Grella is hoping to put his injury-plagued season behind him once and for all and play his part on Saturday against Stoke City.
Since signing for the Ewood Park club back in August, the Australian international has had a stop-start season due to a number of injuries, but having come through ninety minutes unscathed for the Reserves on Tuesday night he is now targeting the crucial league fixture against Stoke City.
"It has been one of those seasons where every time I seem to get started I'm having to start all over again," said Grella to Rovers World.
"But I'm feeling good, I'm positive and hopefully I'll be ready for the game against Stoke and be up for selection and give the manager another option.
"I'm looking forward to it and I hope to put my hand up when called upon."
With six games to go in the season, Grella hopes to see out the campaign injury free and then put in the hard work necessary to start next season in top shape.
"It has been frustrating but I've got to be positive," added Grella. "Things happen in football and it is part of the profession. I think in pre-season I need to sort that physical problem out, but I still have six games where I want to give my contribution, whether it is big or small, to Blackburn.
"I always have a small debt to repay and I think in these games I will still show what I am about.
