Two on target

Posted on: Tue 14 Apr 2009

Two of Rovers' loan players were amongst the goals over the Easter weekend.

Saturday saw Alan Judge net his second goal for Plymouth in their impressive 4-0 win over Coventry City at Home Park. Whilst on Monday it was Paul Gallagher's turn as he converted a first half penalty as they drew 1-1 away at Birmingham City.

Those four points have put some daylight between themselves and the clubs in the relegation. The Pilgrims are four points above the relegation places with just three games to play.

Tony Kane was an unused substitute on both Saturday and Monday as League One side Carlisle United first drew 1-1 with Oldham Athletic and then lost 1-0 away at Huddersfield Town.

In League Two, Frank Fielding's Rochdale picked up four points over the two games in their chase for an automatic promotion place. The on loan goalkeeper featured in both games as 'Dale beat Port Vale 1-0 and drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury.

Keith Hill's side are 5th in the table, just two points off an automatic promotion place.

Sunday saw champions Olympiakos defeated by a former foe of Rovers - Larissa. Matt Derbyshire played the full game as the home side lost 1-0.
