Sam eyes another 'scalp'

Posted on: Sat 14 Mar 2009

SAM Allardyce is hoping to spike Arsenal's guns when Rovers face the Gunners at the Emirates this afternoon.

During his time in charge at Bolton, Big Sam had an enviable record against the 'big four', who regularly came unstuck against his tough, uncompromising Wanderers.

Now the Rovers chief is planning to add to that impressive collection of scalps by masterminding Arsenal's downfall in the capital.

"My teams have always tended to do pretty well against the big boys," said Sam.

"At Bolton, we always managed to upset the bigger teams on a consistent basis.

"All of the big teams have their weaknesses and I pride myself on being tactically capable of spotting those weaknesses, whatever they may be, and then hopefully exploiting them."

Rovers fans will be out in force at the Emirates later this afternoon with all tickets now snapped up. If you aren't going to the game, why not listen to the game on Rovers World? Sign up now for our 30-day free trial. Find out more here.
