Concentrate on ourselves

Posted on: Fri 06 Mar 2009

Chris Samba believes that Rovers should concentrate on their own displays and results and not to look to closely at what other teams around them are doing.

Results elsewhere meant that despite Rovers picking up a decent point against 6th place Everton at Ewood Park on Wednesday night, they slipped back into the bottom three, but the giant defender believes if they concentrate on themselves and get something from their game in hand against Fulham next Wednesday.

Speaking to Rovers World, Samba said: "It is pretty tight at the moment, since last week the other results have not been in our favour.

"But we have to concentrate on ourselves, we have a game in hand and we have to get something out of this game.

"The league is really tight, just one win can take you five places up the table. We just have to concentrate now and the Fulham game will be a very important game for us.

"It is our game in hand and we hope we concentrate and that we go there with a real hunger."

The Congo international felt Rovers performed well against Everton, a side that Samba has always found tough to play against.

"Since I've come here Everton have shown to be a tough team, really disciplined, we knew it would be a difficult game with just a few chances.

"We knew it was going to be tight, but we didn't want to be the losers. We had good chances, they had good chances, so I think the point is fair.

"Everton has been one of the best team this season, they are high up the league, but unfortunately we are were we are, but it can be a good point if we get something out of Fulham.

"We have one week to get ready for the game at Fulham, we have to do the right things and we will get out of the bottom three.

"I think it will be a hard finish, we will do everything we can to get out, I think four or five wins will be enough for us and I am confident we can get them."
