The league is the most important - Olsson

Posted on: Tue 24 Feb 2009

Martin Olsson admits that whilst it would be great to advance further in this season's FA Cup competition, Premier League survival remains Rovers' number one priority.

Martin, who is in contention for a starting role at the Ricoh Arena this evening, said: "The cup is important because we want to go to Wembley. But of course the Premier League is the most important, because we are in the bottom three.

"We know we can get out of the relegation zone, it will just take a bit of time. At the same time, we'll do our best tonight against Coventry and it will be great if we win."

After holding a half-time lead against Coventry City 10 days ago, the Sky Blues struck twice in the second-half, before Christopher Samba earned tonight's replay with an injury-time equaliser.

And Martin insists that Chris Coleman's side shouldn't be taken lightly.

"Coventry played good football in the second half," he added. "We shouldn't underestimate them, even if they are a Championship side.

"We have to be focussed and we'll see what happens. If we play our game, I'm sure we'll be fine."

Tickets for this evening's game go off sale at Ewood Park at 1.00pm, but fans can pay cash on the door at the Ricoh Arena, prices are £20 for Adults, £10 Concessions.
