A huge incentive - gaffer

Posted on: Tue 24 Feb 2009

Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has warned his players not to let this season's FA Cup run go to waste.

Rovers have played four games in the competition thus far and have an excellent opportunity to secure a home quarter-final with Chelsea when they cross swords with Coventry City again tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Ahead of this evening's fifth round replay, big Sam said: "It is a very good incentive for us.

"A victory against Coventry would take us into the Chelsea game on the Saturday, which would mean we are one win away from at least playing once at Wembley and then only two wins away from being in the final.

"So that is a great incentive. We've fought long and hard to get where we are at the moment. Unfortunately we've let ourselves go into a replay situation, which is exactly what we did at Sunderland, so let's not waste it.

"Let's use the squad to its full potential again, making sure they deliver the sort of performances that have got us this far up to now."

Tickets for this evening's game go off sale at Ewood Park at 1.00pm, but fans can pay cash on the door at the Ricoh Arena, prices are £20 for Adults, £10 Concessions.
