Mixed news on injury front

Posted on: Sun 01 Feb 2009

Rovers' disappointing draw away to Middlesbrough on Saturday was compounded by injuries to midfield duo Brett Emerton and Keith Andrews.

Andrews injured himself whilst blocking a shot from Tuncay Sanli in the 37th minute and limped off shortly before the break after trying to carry on.

And Rovers were dealt a double blow just five minutes into the second half when Emerton went to ground following a run down the right.

Boss Sam Allardyce said: "Brett has injured his knee and will be assessed today.

"Keith has got a gash on his leg, after an accidental clash with Ryan Nelsen, but he should be ok."
