Sam Allardyce admitted a sense of disappointment following Wednesday night's 2-2 draw at home to Bolton - despite seeing his side come back from two goals down to claim a precious point.
Bolton held a 2-0 lead at half-time courtesy of strikes from Matthew Taylor and Kevin Davies, but Rovers responded brilliantly after the break.
Goals from Stephen Warnock and Benni McCarthy secured a share of the spoils for the home side - but Big Sam felt that it was two points dropped after McCarthy missed a penalty and captain Ryan Nelsen saw a header bounce back off the post in time added on.
"In the end, it's two points lost I think," said the Rovers manager.
"Who would have thought at half-time I'd be disappointed with a point - but I am.
"It was a tremendous fightback and recovery. The players showed a lot of character and commitment first of all and then the quality came through.
"And but for the penalty miss and the one on the post, we could have been celebrating a very precious victory. But we'll claim a morale win."
Allardyce was also disappointed that Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen was allowed to continue after bringing down Roque Santa Cruz inside the box.
The Finnish international was only shown a yellow card by referee Mike Dean, before saving McCarthy's penalty.
And Sam said: "We all thought Benni would be composing himself to take a penalty against their reserve keeper.
"I can't agree with why the referee has not deemed it a clear goalscoring chance.
"And then Benni has ended up missing it. I kept on saying 'don't let it go now after coming so far'. We kept plugging away, we got the equaliser and then Ryan's come within the width of a post from winning it."
