MANAGER Paul Ince has highlighted the importance of the forthcoming festive period.

Having picked up just three Premier League points from a possible 30, Rovers have edged towards troubled waters in recent weeks.

But with Rovers' next four games this month against teams all in the bottom half of the table, Ince insists that a positive run of results is just around the corner - starting with this weekend's trip to Wigan.

"We can beat anyone on our day, but that hasn't happened for the last nine or ten games," he said. "However, we always looked beyond the Manchester United and Liverpool games as four or five fixtures where we can start picking up some points.

"Not just this weekend's game against Wigan, but the Christmas period is very important for us to get back on track to where we want to be.

"The most important thing is to get something from the game - to get a draw or a win will give us something to build on at the start of the Christmas campaign.

"It is a results business and we need to start winning games, so hopefully that will start on Saturday.

"The Liverpool game has given us a lift. It was the first time for a while where the lads in the changing room felt they were getting close to where they want to be.

"We've had a good weeks training, we're all up for the fight and we are ready for Saturday."

Tickets will be on sale at the turnstiles at the JJB Stadium on Saturday, priced £20 Adults, £15 concessions.
