JAMIE Clarke and Paul Gallagher both scored at the weekend for their respective loan clubs, but both players ended up on the losing side.

Striker Clarke came off the bench to score from the penalty spot for Accrington Stanley against Bury, but they were on the end of a 2-1 defeat at the Fraser Eagle Stadium. Fellow Rover Rostyn Griffiths again featured for the full ninety minutes.

In League One Frank Fielding's Northampton Town lost 2-1 to Colchester United, whilst fellow goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen watched on for Motherwell from the bench as they lost 2-0 at Aberdeen.

Conor Kavanagh didn't feature as Clitheroe defeated Harrogate Railway 4-3, whilst Martin McCubbin's Vauxhall Motors lost 3-1 at Workington.
