Country call for Carlos
ROVERS attacker Carlos Villanueva has been called up to the Chile squad for their forthcoming friendly match against Spain.
The Rovers star missed out on the previous World Cup qualifiers, but has been selected in the squad to face the European champions at Villarreal on Novemner 19th.
Also getting a call is Keith Andrews who has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly match against Poland on the same night.
The Rovers midfielder, who limped out of Sunday's defeat against Chelsea with a sore knee, has been named in Giovanni Trapattoni's 23-man squad for the game at Croke Park.
Andrews hasn't yet featured for the Republic at senior level, so he'll be keeping his fingers crossed that the knock sustained at Ewood Park at the weekend won't be too serious to keep him out at club and country level.
Brett Emerton and Vince Grella have both been named in Australia's squad for their World Cup qualifier against Bahrain in Manama. However with both players struggling with hamstring strains it remains to be seen whether either player will travel to the Gulf to play on November 19th.
