MIDFIELDER Steven Reid has undergone surgery in America to repair his injured knee.
Manager Paul Ince has revealed the Republic of Ireland international visited the world renowned surgeon Dr Richard Steadman in the States earlier this week and the early indications are everything went well.
The manager said: "Steven Reid had his operation on Wednesday and he's come through that alright so things are looking up.
"Reidy has gone to one of the best in the business in Dr. Steadman so there is no reason why everything shouldn't be okay."
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder David Dunn continues to make good progress in his battle to recover from an Achilles injury.
David had surgery to correct the problem earlier in the season and he's now hoping to be back playing again before Christmas.
However, the manager will resist any temptation to rush him back too quickly.
"I don't want to get too excited," said the Rovers boss.
"He's been out for a while now so it's important that we give him as much time he needs.
"I've been speaking to him and the signs are looking good, but we are not going to rush him."
