Matty's England hopes
STRIKER Matt Derbyshire will be hoping to play his part in sending England through to the Euro 2009 Under 21 Championship finals when the under 21s take on Wales at Villa Park this Tuesday evening.
Stuart Pearce's side lead 3-2 after a pulsating first leg at Ninian Park and are favourites to progress through to next summer's finals in Sweden, but Wales have already shown that they are no pushovers.
Rovers striker Derbyshire was an unused substitute in the first leg in Cardiff, and with Pearce expected to name the same starting eleven, the Blackburn man is likely to have to make an impact coming off the bench.
Also in under 21 action today are the Irish duo of Keith Treacy and Eddie Nolan. Both are in the Republic of Ireland squad that travel to face Lithuania in an international friendly this afternoon.
