There were mixed fortunes for the Rovers players in action on International duty over the weekend.

In Rotterdam, Andre Ooijer and his Netherlands' side kept up their 100% World Cup qualifying record with a 2-0 win over Macedonia.

The Rovers defender played the full match as goals from Mathijsen and Huntelaar secured victory for the home side.

Also in Group 9 action were Norway who played Scotland at Hampden. Morten Gamst Pedersen looked lively as a second half substitute but the game ended goalless. Whilst in Tblisi, Georgia picked up their first points in Group 8 with a 1-1 draw against Cyprus. Captain Zurab Khizanishvili played the full ninety minutes.

Chris Samba played the full game as Congo missed the chance to go to the top of their qualification group after being defeated 2-0 by Sudan, but there was better news for South Africa as they defeated Equatorial Guinea 1-0. Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena both featuring.
