VINCE Grella has made a welcome return to training this week, but admits that tomorrow's crunch clash against Manchester United may have come just too soon.

The Australia midfielder, who has played just 45 minutes for the club after picking up a calf injury on international duty little over a week after he signed, is happy to make himself available, but believes the final decision will rest with the manager.

"I'm getting better," said Vince. "I had my first full training session with the team yesterday (Thursday), so that was a relief.

"It is the manager's decision, but really after just one full training session it is a little bit hard.

"But I'm not scared to put my hand up. I've played in big games before. Manchester United is a massive game and if required I'll be able to give my contribution."

It has been a frustrating four weeks for the former Torino star, but Vince knows that time is on his side to show the Rovers fans what he can do.

"It has been a bit of a disappointing start, but there is no use crying over it," he added. "I'm just trying to get on with getting fit and getting back in the team.

"It has been frustrating, but I'm working hard. It is a long season and I'm sure I'll have time to prove my qualities."

Vince's task of forcing his way back into the team has been made doubly difficult however, after the pairing of Stephen Warnock and Tugay has proved to be a revelation in the centre of midfield.

"They've been fantastic," Vince added. "They have made my job a lot harder.

"But as I've said, the season is a long one and the more options that the manager has the better it is for Blackburn.

"Having good players available is only going to be to the advantage of the club."
