NEW signing Robbie Fowler believes it will be a tough task to force his way into the team.

The former Liverpool forward, who has agreed a three-month pay-as-you-play deal with the club, admits he has been impressed with the attacking options available to manager Paul Ince.

"Roque's been brilliant," he stated. "You look at his record last year in what was his first campaign and he scored over 20 goals, which is great.

"The likes of Jason Roberts, who has had a fantastic start to the season, Benni McCarthy's record has been class as well and obviously there is Matt Derbyshire as well, who can play in a number of positions.

"So it isn't going to be easy for me. I think it is going to be a bit difficult to get into the squad, so we'll just see how it goes."

But Fowler, who is the fourth-highest scorer in Premier League history, is happy to offer his experience both on and off the pitch.

"There are a few experienced players in this squad, but if I can help in any way shape or form, be it an older player or a younger one, then great," he added.
