BOSS Paul Ince couldn't hide his delight as he celebrated his first win as manager after Rovers defeated Everton 3-2.
After an impressive opening in which Rovers only had David Dunn's goal to show for their dominance, goals from Arteta and Yakubu turned the game on its head, but Roque Santa Cruz drew Rovers level just ninety seconds later.
The game looked to be heading towards a draw until Andre Ooijer popped up in added time at the end of the game to give Rovers all three.
"We thoroughly deserved it," beamed Ince after the game. "In the first half I thought we were different class and played some lovely football, we should have probably been two or three goals up.
"We got caught with a sucker-punch just before half time and that kind of knocked us back as you could see with the performance in the first fifteen minutes of the second half, it took us a while to get going again.
"But when we conceded the second goal the willingness and application to get back into the game, the fighting spirit, not just to get to 2-2 but to actually go on and win the game was absolutely incredible."
It was the manner in which Rovers came back that delighted Paul Ince.
"Last year at Milton Keynes we did exactly the same, we did it at Stockport last year we went 1-0 down, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, and it shows the sign of a team that has great spirit and great ability.
"It is something you want in a team and we have that in great abundance, we have that never-say-die attitude, we never know how to lose, we never give up and that is from having good players, talent and togetherness, it was great to see that today.
"The whole team did ever so well."
