Danny's delight

LOAN signing Danny Simpson has spoken of his delight at securing a move to Blackburn Rovers for the season.

The full back has joined the Ewood Park club on a season-long loan from Manchester United and impressed on his first outing at Ewood Park in the friendly draw with NAC Breda on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Rovers World, Simpson said: "I spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson and he said I want you to go to Blackburn it will be a good opportunity for you, so I'm just over the moon.

"It is a big club, it has got a big history, they've won the Premiership in the past, and with Paul Ince as a manager as a boy I used to watch him playing for Manchester United.

"It is Premiership football, at a good level, they are a good footballing club so it is a good move for me.

After signing on Monday, it has been a whirlwind few days for the for the 21-year-old.

"I started training on Tuesday with the lads, the first few days you just want to get involved as quickly as you can, get settled as quickly as you can. I've enjoyed this week."
