Morten hoping for a change of fortune

Posted on: Fri 08 Aug 2008

WINGER Morten Gamst Pedersen is hoping that a change in name will bring about a change in fortune.

The Norwegian international has admitted that last season didn't go as well as the 26-year-old has anticipated, therefore the name 'Gamst' won't be on the back of his Rovers shirt this forthcoming season as 'Pedersen' makes a return.

As the midfielder enters his fifth season with the club, Pedersen aims to put last season firmly behind him with a return to the form that saw him become one of the Premier League's hottest properties.

"Last year everything didn't really go my way," admitted the Norwegian. "The end of the season was good for me, but before that it wasn't good.

"I had three good seasons before that, normally it is two steps forward and one back so maybe last season was the one back so I can start going forward again.

"I've been working hard and maybe it will pay off, I'm fresh and ready for the new season"

See Pedersen and the rest of the team in action against NAC Breda at Ewood Park on Saturday. Kick-off is 3.00pm, tickets are £12 for Adults, £5 for concessions. Call the ticket ofice on 0871 222 1444 for further details.
