MANAGER Paul Ince has moved quickly to make his third summer signing with the loan capture of defender Danny Simpson from Manchester United.

Following on from deals to bring Paul Robinson and Carlos Villanueva to the club, full-back Simpson has made the short move to Ewood Park on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old is highly rated at Old Trafford and made eight appearances for United last season including two starts in the Champions League, before he ended the campaign on loan at Championship side Ipswich Town where he featured eight times.

Previously Simpson had enjoyed loan spells with Sunderland and Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

As well as securing the services of Simpson, manager Paul Ince is hopeful of adding a couple more faces in time for the start of the new Barclays Premier League season on August 16th.

"There's another couple of targets we are looking at and we hope to bring them through the door in the next couple of weeks," confirmed the Rovers boss.
