Brett Emerton has signed a new long-term contract with Rovers.

The versatile Australian star has agreed a deal which will keep him at Ewood Park until June 2012.

Emerton has made over 200 first team appearances and played a variety of roles since being signed from Feyenoord in 2003.

"This is great news for the club," said Rovers chairman John Williams.

"Brett has been an excellent servant over the last five years and we are delighted to have agreed a deal which keeps him here for another four years.

"He's a very willing member of the squad and a real club man."
