STEPHEN Warnock became the latest Blackburn Rovers player to earn full international honours when he featured in England's 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday evening.
The Rovers full back came on for the final six minutes of the match in Port of Spain that Fabio Capello's side won comfortably.
Goals in quick succession in the first half from Gareth Barry and Jermain Defoe set the tone, but it wasn't until David Bentley's introduction at half-time that England were able to add a third.
It was his teasing cross from right that was headed back into the danger zone for Defoe to strike home his second on the night.
Also playing 45 minutes for his country was defender Andre Ooijer as the Netherlands finished their Euro 2008 preparations with an easy 2-0 win over Wales in Rotterdam. The competition begins for the Dutch with a tough match against Italy in Bern a week this Monday.
Saturday saw Roque Santa Cruz play just under an hour as Paraguay held France to a goalless draw in Toulouse in a warm up match before their World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Bolivia later this month, whilst Zurab Khizanishvili again captained Georgia as they slipped to a 2-0 away defeat at Portugal.
In Abuja there were mixed fortunes for Rovers midfielder Aaron Mokoena, as he earned a record 75th cap for South Africa time against Nigeria, but they slipped to a 2-0 defeat in their African Cup of Nations qualifier.
