MATT Derbyshire and Steven Reid are both to go under the surgeon's knife this week.

Striker Derbyshire has been playing with a hernia problem since the turn of the year, but held off surgery until the end of the season to get the troublesome injury seen to.

Whilst Steven Reid, who has been no stranger to the treatment room over the last eighteen months, will have an operation to check the progress of his earlier cruciate ligament injury.

Surgery means that both players have not been included in their respective international squads for their forthcoming friendly matches, but both Derbyshire and Reid are expected to be fit for the pre-season return in July.
