Hughes on the hunt
THE Premier League season may have only just ended, but manager Mark Hughes' plans for the following campaign are well under way.
Having already added midfielder Johann Vogel to the squad in March, and signed Martin Olsson, Matt Derbyshire and Stephen Warnock on new deals, his attentions have now turned to adding more quality to the squad that finished seventh in the Premier League, and took the opportunity, along with assistant manager Mark Bowen, to take in the Espanyol v Atletico Madrid game last week.
"The process starts almost as soon as the window shuts, you get over one window and you plan for the next one, that is how it is," said Hughes.
"You've got to take opportunities to look at players if you can and that is what I've been able to do this week.
"I'm hopeful of getting some good quality into the squad, I hope to spend the money that I get well. We've been able to do that in recent times and if we continue in that vein then we'll add quality to the quality in the squad that we already have."
