Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel earned himself a place in the Team of the Week in the Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League. Friedel was the top-ranked keeper after scoring 18 points in his side's 1-0 win at Portsmouth.

It helped lift him two places to 27th overall, making him the third-ranked goalkeeper so far this season behind Liverpool's Jose Reina (25th position) and Pompey's David James (26th).

The trio are separated by just eight points in the race to be the Index's number one stopper.

Roque Santa Cruz remains Rovers' highest-placed player, the striker earned 32 points at Fratton Park to take his overall total to 602 points, becoming the fifth player to break the 600-point barrier.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player's contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
